The initial build of our recommendation engine was sluggish, compromising user engagement. Recognizing the need for speed and accuracy, we pivoted to Go for its prowess in handling complex algorithms efficiently. Deployed on AWS Fargate, the revamped engine dramatically improved in delivering swift and relevant product suggestions, mirroring the user's preferences and behaviors.

Challenge 2: High-Performance Backend Integration

Our backend was initially developed using Node.js. However, to enhance the app’s capability, we integrated NestJS. This elevated the backend infrastructure, allowing us to handle high traffic volumes and complex data operations without compromising on performance.

Challenge 3: Seamless Third-Party E-commerce Integration

A critical aspect of Wavee was the integration with third-party e-commerce platforms for affiliate marketing. The challenge was to establish a robust connection for real-time affiliate link updates. Matching the performance and feel of native apps like Instagram and TikTok on a cross-platform application was one of our biggest challenges. By leveraging Flutter and a customized GetX framework, we ensured that Wavee delivered a consistent, high-quality user experience on both iOS and Android platforms.
